CAN YOU/LIFE COACHING HELP ME? 

If you are in any of the following situations then yes, it is very likely I can help you;

  • You're at a crossroads in your life or career and would like to work through your options.

  • You want to uncover the limiting beliefs that are holding you back, step into your potential and connect to your purpose.

  • You need some time and headspace for you. To have an objective, trusted, qualified person to talk to who understands you, your dreams, hopes and your vulnerabilities. Who can help you develop personally, and who you can say anything to so that you can move from “ok” to “great”. You don’t think it’s a therapist but it’s more than a friend, colleague or family member.

  • You're stressed, exhausted and burning (or burnt) out. You want to develop a healthier more holistic lifestyle and need help putting it in place.

  • You feel unfulfilled and somewhat lost. Having followed a path that's no longer yours, you're ready to get to the essence of who you really are, identify what you want out of life, and then make it happen.

  • There are work or career issues bubbling; perhaps you've got problems in your current work, you’re preparing to make a career change after a long time, or you want to move to the next level in your current career.

  • You've just come out of a relationship. Whether that's "good" or "bad" (or most likely a bit of both), it can mean massive change to your whole life and to your beliefs, values and hopes. It's complicated, it's sad, it's a lot to deal with alone, and you just want to get back on track and move forward now.

  • You're ready to ditch your confidence demons; whether they’re around your inner self-esteem, which other people possibly don't see, or your social/public confidence which other people do.

  • You've got a specific problem to overcome or a specific goal you wish to achieve and you want someone to support you and hold you to account while you do it.

These are the type of areas that I typically support people with however my scope is pretty broad. If I don’t think I can help you I’ll be really honest and let you know. Integrity is one of my driving values and I only work with people I truly believe I can genuinely make a positive difference to.


So what ExaCTLY is life coaching thEN?  

 Life coaching is where you work with a professional coach on areas such as the above in an action oriented, supportive, and future focussed way to help you get the most out of your life. 

We explore what's going on for you, what's holding you back and what can move you forward. Rather than spending most of the time dwelling on the problems it's solution focussed and is all about getting you to a better place than you're in now. You will generally benefit from coaching if; 

  • Something is or has changed which you want help dealing with.

  • You are ready to make change and don't know how to go about it or would like some support.

  • Nothing is happening or changing, you're stuck in a rut, frustrated and generally over it.

The approach we take will depend on what you want and need at the time. Sometimes you’ll need someone to hold your hand and give you a hug and other times you’ll be after someone to kick your ass (metaphorically, obviously!).


the process

We’ve covered the “why” get a life coach and “what” it is, here’s more about “how” it works.

The exact content of what we do will depend on what you need however broadly speaking the coaching relationship between us falls into 3 stages. 

+ 1. Build the foundations to achieve your outcome

The introductory phase where we get to know each other, build up trust, clarify how we will work together and begin to understand where you are right now and where you want to be. This stage sets a solid foundation for your success and is essential to making the achievement of your outcomes real.

+ 2. Take positive, directed action

Here through a series of focused conversations we start exploring options and taking action towards your outcome so that you achieve it.

We focus on both the now and the future and always work with the end in mind. At your own pace you will begin to try-out and test-out different ways of thinking and being to that you can get there. We will measure progress along the way so you can be sure you are making positive strides. It's where the real work happens and changes start to occur.

+ 3. Enhance and maintain your achievements and success

By now you're seeing results and feeling pretty great and proud of yourself. Well done! You have successfully achieved your outcome or are on a clear enough path to go the rest of the distance yourself. So at this stage we'll close down loose ends and determine a plan for how you will maintain the changes you've already made and keep on growing and achieving even more.

Depending on what brought you to coaching, this process can happen over anything from a couple of sessions to an indefinite and open relationship. I work with clients for a minimum of 6 sessions.

It is important to be clear, my role is to coach and support you towards achieving your outcome, it is down to you to take the action to make it happen.


What now?

If you've decided to go ahead, the first step is an initial short telephone conversation or Skype at no charge to establish what you would like to achieve from the coaching relationship and for us both to decide if I'm the right person to coach you.

As I said, if I don't think I can help you, I'll let you know. I want you to achieve your goals more than anything else, and if I think someone else will be able to support you with that better than me, then I'll tell you. 

If however the fit is a good one for us both and we decide to proceed, then we will arrange our first face to face meeting for as soon as you’re ready to begin.

I work with clients for a minimum of 6 sessions as in my experience this level of commitment and consistency is necessary for true change to occur.
